Simon Zion is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer from southern Finland who grew up in Umeå. He took Sweden by storm in 2015 when he came in third place on TV4's Idol.
Simon has a unique and organic relationship with music and delivers high-quality live performances, solo with guitar and loop pedal as well as in a trio, with a full band, and with a big band.
He is currently promoting his new single "#222," which is the first single from his upcoming album in 2023. Simon is also a member of the power trio AWAZE and is the band leader of the jazz rock octet "The Great Escape." Simon describes himself as the number one music nerd, with vocals and guitar as his main instruments. He plays across genres and places great emphasis on improvisation. Simon has a wonderful personality that stands out from the crowd and he has the ability to captivate audiences on both large stages and in small jazz clubs, while at the same time being a very down-to-earth person.
Simon Zion has been compared to Jeff Buckley, Miles Davis, Kurt Cobain, and Sting, among others, and has a wide vocal range and unique guitar playing that gives his songs their distinctive sound.
Music has taken Simon around the world, from Melbourne, Australia, to Los Angeles, USA. He has collaborated with artists such as Cornelia Jacobs and is currently on tour with Carola Häggkvist.
